PINC & STEEL is more than just helping people after cancer, it is about giving hope, strength and courage.
Physical impairments that might be relatively easily addressed by rehabilitation interventions if detected early can become very difficult to treat and costly if they have progressed over weeks, months or years. It is important if you are worried about something (for example, something is painful or doesn't move well), you need to get a certified physiotherapists to assess you.
It doesn't matter how far down the track you are since your diagnosis, your certified physiotherapist is there to help and support you.
Private Health funds or Private Medical Insurance will normally refund the cost of post-operative physiotherapy depending on your cover.
The initial assessment session is for an hour and the follow up sessions can be 30 minutes or 60 minutes depending on your requirements.
The costs are the same as standard physiotherapy rates. If you need financial assistance to attend the individual cancer rehab sessions we have some financial hardship funding available from the PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation to subsidise the cost. The max surcharge will be around $10 per 30 minute visit.
Please contact your local PINC & STEEL Certified clinic to find out exact costs in your region.
Your local PINC & STEEL Physiotherapy clinic may also have Next Steps, PaddleOn or Pilates classes available (approx $10 - $25) that you may be able to attend once you have been assessed and treated.
We have gift vouchers available for individual sessions if family and friends would like to support women or men they know through their rehabilitation program. See more info on gifting sessions.
