About

PINC & STEEL is dedicated to helping individuals with any type of cancer.

Supporting Every Step of Recovery

Our team of certified Oncology Physiotherapists provides personalised care, guidance, and rehabilitation to help people regain strength, confidence, and quality of life. But PINC & STEEL is about more than just physical recovery. It’s about giving people hope, strength, and courage as they navigate life after a cancer diagnosis.

Since 2005, we’ve helped thousands of people and remain committed to helping thousands more.

Why Cancer Rehabilitation Matters

Today, more people are surviving and living longer with cancer, but many face long-term side effects and extended health challenges. Without the right support, these challenges can significantly impact quality of life.

At PINC & STEEL, we’re passionate about ensuring that no one faces this journey alone. We help individuals:

  • Minimise side effects of treatment.
  • Rebuild strength and confidence post-treatment.
  • Maximise recovery through evidence-based rehabilitation.
  • Take positive steps towards future health and well-being.

Cancer treatments are tough, but they’re more manageable when people know what to expect and are equipped with practical strategies to support their recovery. That’s where we come in.

Pioneering Cancer Rehabilitation Since 2005

PINC & STEEL has been a pioneering force in cancer rehabilitation in New Zealand since 2005. What began here has now expanded to 24 countries, advancing the global standard of cancer rehabilitation care.

Our Rehabilitation Pathway

Cancer rehabilitation is not a one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why the PINC & STEEL Rehabilitation Pathway is designed to be simple, accessible, and tailored to each individual.

  • Individuals can self-refer by registering online.
  • Medical or healthcare practitioners can also make a referral.
  • Our Patient Navigator will connect the individual with the closest certified PINC & STEEL Oncology Physiotherapist.
  • Each person starts with a one hour initial assessment - during this session the physiotherapist will assess the patient’s needs, goals, and challenges, and develop a personalised self-management plan.
  • Rehabilitation Pathway - the physiotherapist will recommend the most appropriate rehabilitation pathway, which may include individual or group sessions.
  • If additional support is required, they can apply for further funding on the patient’s behalf.

About the PINC & STEEL Foundation

To address barriers in accessing care, the PINC & STEEL Foundation was established in 2006. It is New Zealand’s only charity dedicated to cancer rehabilitation—supporting people with all types of cancer, at all stages, and of all ages.

The Foundation’s mission is simple: to help people reclaim the quality of life they deserve.

Cancer rehabilitation is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve life after cancer. It reduces disability, decreases hospital readmissions, and supports faster returns to work, independence, and the activities people love.
